10 January, Minsk /BelTA correspondent/. In Belarus, it will be possible to purchase goods from individual entrepreneurs using preferential loans for consumer needs. This provision is stipulated by Decree No. 11 "On Amendments and Additions to Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus of July 6, 2009 No. 371", which was signed by the Head of State Alexander Lukashenko on January 6. BelTA was informed about this by the press service of the Belarusian leader. The decree provides for the extension of the period for granting citizens preferential loans for consumer needs until 2011 and the possibility of purchasing goods using preferential loans from individual entrepreneurs. In accordance with the Decree of July 6, 2009 No. 371 "On Preferential Consumer Lending", open joint-stock companies "Savings Bank "Belarusbank", "Belagroprombank", "Belarusian Bank for Development and Reconstruction "Belinvestbank" and "Belpromstroybank" provided preferential loans to citizens for consumer needs in 2009-2010 for the purchase of goods from the list determined by the government. According to these joint-stock companies, public demand for this type of loan is increasing. Mainly, furniture and household appliances are purchased using preferential consumer loans. For 9 months of 2010, consumer loans totaling over Br42 billion were issued to the public. The decree also provides for the possibility of purchasing consumer goods using preferential loans from individual entrepreneurs who sell goods through retail outlets.
