In Belarus, the minimum wage for June of the current year is indexed by 34.3%, as the consumer price index for June exceeded the five percent threshold compared to the month of the previous indexation (May 2011). This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection. The monthly minimum wage (MW) for June is Br577,740, the hourly minimum wage is Br3,400. Since January 1 of the current year, the minimum wage, established by the government decree of December 20, 2010, No. 1844, amounted to Br460,000. This benchmark increased in April (taking into account a 9.3% indexation) to Br491,920, and in May (taking into account a 23.7% indexation) to Br541,350. According to the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On the Establishment and Procedure for Increasing the Minimum Wage", the MW established by legislation and indexed is mandatory for the employer as the lowest limit of employee remuneration.-0-
