On November 13, Minsk /Elena Prus - BELTA/. In Belarus, the minimum wage (MW) for October of the current year is indexed by 12.4%, as in the previous month. This is due to the fact that the consumer price index for October did not exceed the five percent threshold compared to the month of the previous indexation (August 2012), as reported by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection. Thus, the monthly minimum wage for October of the current year is Br1,109,120, and the hourly minimum wage is Br6,580. The ministry emphasized that, in accordance with the law "On the Establishment and Procedure for Increasing the Minimum Wage," the MW established by legislation and indexed is mandatory for the employer as the lowest limit of remuneration for employees. Since January 1 of the current year, by resolution of the Council of Ministers, the monthly minimum wage was set at Br1,000,000, and the hourly minimum wage at Br5,000.
