The Head of State emphasized that this is one of the most promising areas. "World practice shows that the course towards the development and accelerated implementation of infrastructure for it (electric transport. - BELTA note) has proven to be correct. Today, almost all countries are following this path. This is an urgent necessity for us as well - both from the perspective of the lack of sufficient domestic oil and considering the launch of the Belarusian NPP," he said.
In addition to purely economic aspects, the environmental dimension of this issue is also important, and therefore, it is imperative not to stop in creating the proper conditions for the functioning of this new sphere, the President noted.
About a year ago, a decision was made to provide a number of benefits to increase public interest in purchasing electric cars. According to the government, this practice has paid off. "Now the need has arisen to introduce additional incentives," stated Alexander Lukashenko.
He posed a number of questions to the meeting participants: will these proposed incentives allow for more active equipping of fleets with electric transport for both passenger and commercial transportation, and will they make this equipment more accessible to citizens and businesses?
