In Belarus, 5.5 thousand unemployed individuals requiring additional employment guarantees have been placed in reserved jobs during January-September of the current year. This information was provided to a BELTA correspondent by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection.
Specifically, through the employment service, 476 disabled individuals secured jobs within the quota; 630 young people under 21 seeking employment for the first time; 1,642 parents from large and single-parent families; and 1,064 individuals released from places of detention. According to specialists, in 2015, employers were assigned a quota to hire citizens who are provided with additional employment assistance guarantees, amounting to 20.1 thousand jobs.
During January-September of the current year, 355 disabled individuals were directed towards adaptation to work activities with compensation for employers' labour costs (81.4% of the target). Over the nine months, employers' expenses for the creation and maintenance of 26 jobs for the employment of disabled individuals have been compensated.
Key indicators for ensuring the employment of the rural population have been met. In January-September, assistance in employment was provided to 18.2 thousand unemployed individuals in rural areas; financial support for self-employment organisation was given to 218 unemployed individuals; vocational training was organised for 1.4 thousand rural residents; and 21.6 thousand people participated in paid public works.
