26 October, Novolukoml /Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. Belarus needs to develop the production of inexpensive construction materials. This was stated today to journalists by the Chairman of the State Control Committee of Belarus, Alexander Yakobson, BELTA correspondent reports. According to Alexander Yakobson, reducing the cost of housing construction largely depends on the cost of building materials. "We cannot afford expensive construction materials, so we need to adopt new technologies," he stated. The Novolukoml expanded clay aggregate plant is an example of an enterprise that is developing the production of new products from local raw materials, implementing European technologies, and at the same time working to increase production and reduce the cost of the final product, noted the Chairman of the SCC. Currently, OJSC "Novolukoml Expanded Clay Aggregate Plant" is commencing the implementation of an investment project for the production of expanded clay concrete heat-insulating blocks. The technology of construction using such materials is widespread in Scandinavian countries, while in Belarus they are still a novelty. -0-
