The Republican youth festival-competition "Mediasphere-2019", which will be held at Yanka Kupala Grodno State University on April 24-26, has started accepting applications, the Ministry of Information informed BELTA.
"Mediasphere" is a space for self-expression, offering a chance to meet like-minded people, make new friends, and simply have a good time. Our forum brings together creatively thinking pupils and students who are taking their first steps in photography, print, film, and video arts. This year's festival is held in the Year of Small Motherland and the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders, so the key themes for the competition entries will be "My Youth's Dear Land" and "We Are True to This Memory," the organisers said.
Youth aged from 14 to 31 years are invited to participate: students of higher education institutions, pupils of secondary vocational and vocational-technical education institutions, pupils of secondary education institutions, who need to fill out an application on the festival's website by April 12.
"We invite future and young journalists, as well as everyone who loves shooting videos for social media, knows how to edit them, takes interesting photos, and wishes to make themselves known. Our main goal is to find the most talented young people in Belarus, get acquainted with creative ideas, and discover new names in the media sphere. In addition, for three days, professionals will share their secrets during masterclasses, and we will organise a media quest – an entertainment game with solving media puzzles," noted Yanka Kupala Grodno State University.
The first "Mediasphere" festival was held in 2010 as a university event, and later became regional. In 2019, it became republican thanks to the support of the Ministry of Information.
The festival is organised by the Ministry of Information of Belarus, the Main Department of Ideological Work and Youth Affairs of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee, and the Department of Journalism of the Faculty of History, Communication and Tourism of Yanka Kupala Grodno State University.
