Swimming is restricted in 23 recreational water areas in Belarus. This information is posted on the website of the Republican Centre for Hygiene, Epidemiology and Public Health, as reported by BELTA.
Swimming for children and adults is restricted in 15 recreational areas. In the Brest region, this concerns the Bohonovo pond in Luninets; in the Gomel region, the beach on Komarino Lake and the beach on the Dnieper River in Rogachev, and the left bank of the Pripyat River from the road bridge to the Merlyavitsa channel in Mozyr. Restrictions apply to the pond near the village of Sukhovlyany in the Grodno district, the pond on Nezavisimosti Avenue in Slonim, the beach on the Soligorskoye reservoir in Soligorsk, and the Rudnyanskoye reservoir in the village of Rudnya, Slutsk district. In Minsk, similar measures have been taken regarding beach No. 2 of the Tsnyanskoye reservoir and beach No. 2 of the Drozdy reservoir. In the Mogilev region, these include Grebenyevskoye Lake, the city beach on the Dnieper River in Mogilev, Selishche Lake in Kirovsk, the beach on the Vilchitskoye reservoir, and the beach on the Dnieper River near the village of Polykovichi, Mogilev district.
Swimming for children is restricted in 8 recreational areas. In the Brest region, this applies to Mednyanskoye Lake in the Brest district; in the Gomel region, to the "Kaskad 1" and "Kaskad 2" beaches in Gomel. Children's swimming is also restricted on the Neman River at all three beaches in Grodno – in the forest park areas of "Lososno" tract and "Pyshki" tract, and at the "Tsentralny" beach. In the Minsk region, this is the beach on the Sluch River in the Slutsk district; in the Mogilev region, it is the beach of the "Shinnik" sanatorium of OJSC "Belshina" in Bobruisk.
Over the past week, specialists from the sanitary and epidemiological service have inspected 1014 recreational areas. Violations of sanitary norms, rules, and hygienic standards were identified at 211 of them. These concerned the equipment and maintenance of public toilets, vehicle parking areas, changing cabins (changing rooms), container sites, and containers for solid municipal waste collection, etc.
Nineteen administrative offence reports were drawn up against responsible officials, 162 recommendations were issued for the elimination of identified shortcomings, and 64 letters were sent to local executive bodies, and 117 to departments. Laboratory tests of 1735 water samples were conducted, 67 of which did not meet the established hygienic standards (including 42 for microbiological indicators and 25 for sanitary-chemical indicators).
