February 3, Minsk /BELTA correspondent/. In 2021-2025, Belarus plans to build about 500-700 thousand sq.m of housing using electricity for heating and cooking. This was announced today at a press conference "Key Development Directions of Belarus: Happy Family, Strong Regions, Intellectual Country, Partner State" by Vladislav Shapovalov, Head of the Main Department of Construction and Housing Policy of the Ministry of Architecture and Construction, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
It is planned to develop the construction of houses where electricity is used for heating and water heating (except for areas covered by thermal power plants and gasified districts with power reserve).
"In the next five-year period, it is planned to build about 500-700 thousand sq.m with electric heating and cooking. Based on the experience of European countries, approximately 30% of households in them use electricity for these purposes. We see this as a promising direction and more environmentally acceptable for our state," said Vladislav Shapovalov.
As previously reported, an album of standard design solutions for such houses is posted on the website of the Ministry of Architecture and Construction. Requirements (including sanitary and hygienic ones) for domestic electric heating appliances and electric boilers have been formulated, and schemes for possible heating supply options (centralized, decentralized, combined) have been designated.
The first house in the republic with an increased share of electrical energy in its energy balance was built in Minsk in 2007. Subsequently, similar buildings appeared in other cities.
