Belarus plans to adopt a comprehensive approach to the overhaul of residential buildings. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Kukharev on ONT television channel, as reported by BELTA.

It is more effective to carry out such works by blocks at once, noted the Deputy Prime Minister. "This would allow construction companies to actively participate (in capital repairs. - BELTA note). Logically, those who build should also be responsible for capital repairs in the future, knowing the structural features," explained Vladimir Kukharev.

The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that this issue is under control. "We are working to transition to comprehensive approaches, meaning taking courtyards and adjacent houses (five to six at once) to complete them in one year," he said.

A joint resolution of the Ministries of Housing and Communal Services and Architecture and Construction has recently been adopted, increasing the amount of funds allocated for improvement within the framework of capital repairs. This decision was made due to a large number of citizen appeals, the Deputy Prime Minister reported.
