"An integral characteristic of the state, the economic and financial basis of its sovereignty is the budget – the central link in the state's financial system," noted Petr Miklashevich. "It is proposed to strengthen the role of the government in the budgetary sphere at the constitutional level, both in terms of developing and submitting the budget draft to parliament, and ensuring the execution of the republican budget and presenting a report on its execution to parliament. This will more fully correspond to the constitutional and legal status of the government."
Today, the third meeting of the Constitutional Commission is taking place. It considers proposals to amend the constitutional provisions on the functions and powers of the President of Belarus and the government – the Council of Ministers. The first meeting of the Constitutional Commission was held on March 31. At the same time, a schedule of meetings was approved – they will be held twice a month.
