It is proposed to establish a state operator for youth tourism in Belarus. This was announced by Vadim Karmazin, Director of the Department of Tourism of the Ministry of Sports and Tourism, today at a meeting of the Interdepartmental Expert and Coordination Council on Tourism under the Council of Ministers, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
The current year has been declared the Year of Youth Tourism by the Ministry of Sports and Tourism. "It is proposed to work out the issue of establishing a state operator for youth tourism. It could be established on the basis of the Republican Centre for Ecology and Local Lore or under the auspices of the Centre for International Relations of the Ministry of Education," said Vadim Karmazin.
To develop youth tourism, it is proposed, among other things, to expand the network of hostels and campsites. For example, at least 36 new campsites are expected to be established within two years (currently there are 23 in Belarus).
As for military-patriotic themed tours for youth, 40-50 such routes have been created in each region. Cycling tours are popular.
