March 1, Minsk /BELTA/. As of March 1, 2013, Belarus has ceased the acceptance of banknotes of the 2000 design with denominations of Br10 and Br20 for all types of payments by legal entities, individual entrepreneurs, and individuals. This was reported to BELTA by the Information and Public Relations Department of the National Bank.
Exchange of the withdrawn banknotes of Br10 and Br20 denominations can be made without limitations and without charging a commission fee for any amount divisible by Br50: from March 1 to September 30, 2013 inclusive – at the National Bank and banks of the country; from October 1, 2013 to March 31, 2014 inclusive – at the National Bank.
From April 1, 2014, banknotes of Br10 and Br20 denominations will be withdrawn from circulation and considered invalid.-0-
