This was stated today by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting on current socio-economic development issues, as reported by a BELTA correspondent. "And although we are criticized for increasing pensions and indexing salaries, such a policy is necessary and will be continued," said the head of state. In the President's opinion, price growth is not so terrible, as this money will remain with the enterprises one way or another. It is much more important whether the population has enough money to feed themselves and their families, and whether the country has created conditions for the population to earn this money. "Is the population able to eat normally, given that we have a good volume of milk and meat production, and other products? Does the population have enough money for this? I am not saying that we need to throw away a lot of money, as it was before. Money must be earned. But have we created conditions for a person to earn enough money to feed himself and his family?" he said. In this regard, Alexander Lukashenko demanded that the government report on whether all levers of social support for the population are being used, and first and foremost, for low-income citizens.-0-
