On January 20, Minsk /BelTA/. In Belarus, additional social assistance will be provided to certain categories of citizens from April 1. The corresponding Decree No. 41 "On State Targeted Social Assistance" was signed by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on January 19, BelTA was informed by the press service of the Belarusian leader. The document is adopted with the aim of improving the system of state targeted social assistance and strengthening state support for the population. The system of state targeted social assistance includes the provision of food products to children under the age of two, granted to families whose per capita income is below the highest value of the subsistence minimum budget per capita, approved by the government, for the last two quarters, and to families with twins or more children - regardless of per capita income. The Decree increases the maximum amount of the one-time social benefit to 10 times the subsistence minimum budget per capita, and also expands the list of technical means of social rehabilitation to be paid for by state targeted social assistance, and the range of persons eligible for its provision. A new type of social benefit is also introduced for Group I disabled persons and disabled children with a fourth degree of health loss. Citizens (families) acquire the right to simultaneously apply for various types of state targeted social assistance. The Decree comes into force on April 1, 2012. -0-
