1 April, Minsk /BELTA correspondent/. From 1 April, the procedure for confirming the status of vehicles manufactured and released for free circulation in Belarus before 1 January 2010 and imported into Russia will be simplified for individuals. This was reported to BELTA correspondent by the press service of the State Customs Committee of Belarus.
According to the agreement reached between the State Customs Committee of Belarus and the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation, from 1 April, the status of vehicles manufactured and released for free circulation in Belarus before 1 January 2010 and imported into Russia will be determined solely on the basis of information contained in the vehicle register. The register of vehicles imported into the Republic of Belarus and released for free circulation has been compiled based on information provided from the databases of the customs authorities of Belarus. Access to this register has been granted to all customs authorities of Russia, including those located at notification acceptance points on the Belarusian-Russian border section.
Now, individuals are no longer required to provide other documents confirming the customs clearance of vehicles in Belarus. If information about a vehicle is not found in the register, relevant inquiries will be sent to the customs authorities of Belarus.
In this regard, from 1 April, customs offices will not issue certificates for such vehicles.
However, for vehicles manufactured and released for free circulation in Belarus after 1 January 2010, customs offices where the vehicles were cleared will issue such certificates. These certificates contain information on the amount of customs duties paid, in order to inform about the need to pay additional customs duties upon import into Russia.
Thus, from 1 April, for the import of vehicles manufactured and released for free circulation in Belarus before 1 January 2010, deregistered and imported into Russia, only the technical passport, sales receipt or purchase agreement, as well as a vehicle owner's liability insurance contract are now required.-0-
