This rule applies to vehicles with a technically permissible total mass of up to 3.5 tons inclusive, passenger cars and light trucks with a technically permissible total mass of over 3.5 tons, as well as buses with a technically permissible total mass of up to 5 tons. For violation of this traffic rule, administrative liability is provided for in accordance with Part 3 of Article 18.12 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of Belarus in the form of a fine of up to 1 basic unit. For a repeated violation within a year, the driver is fined from 2 to 5 basic units (currently, one basic unit is Br180 thousand).

"Weather whims in the form of temperature fluctuations and sharp changes in precipitation make the road dangerous. At such a time, all road users should observe increased safety measures. The State Automobile Inspectorate urges drivers to be attentive behind the wheel in difficult weather and road conditions. In addition, the State Automobile Inspectorate strongly urges pedestrians to be more responsible and cautious on the road and to cross the roadway only at designated pedestrian crossings. "But even at a traffic light, before starting to move, make sure that all cars have stopped. If you are with children, hold them firmly by the hand. Also, do not try to cross at a pedestrian crossing in front of approaching traffic. Do not rush when crossing the road. Even the most experienced driver cannot stop a car instantly, especially on a slippery road," advise traffic inspectors.

Until December 4, the traffic police are holding a republican preventive campaign "Life is More Valuable Than Tires!", which is aimed at preventing and preventing road traffic accidents in winter conditions and promoting the use of winter tires. Traffic police inspectors will conduct raids to check how drivers have prepared their vehicles for winter operation.
