On November 12, Minsk /BelTA correspondent/. President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree No. 585 "On increasing the amounts of all types of state scholarships for students" on November 12. As BelTA was informed by the press service of the Head of State, the document was adopted in order to strengthen the social protection of this category of youth. The decree provides for an increase by 1.31 times from November 1, 2010, in the amounts of all types of state scholarships for students of higher education institutions and students of institutions providing secondary vocational and vocational-technical education. As a result of the increase, the scholarship amounts will range from Br149.1 thousand to Br238.6 thousand for university students and from Br125.2 thousand to Br200.1 thousand for students of secondary vocational and vocational-technical institutions. -E-
