On October 21, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree No. 378 "On the Marking of Jewellery and Other Items," as reported to BelTA by the press service of the Head of State.
To ensure the legality of the circulation of such items, mandatory marking using identification means will be implemented from January 1, 2026.
In accordance with the decree, marking will be carried out during the manufacture of jewellery and other items (with the exception of individual orders), their import into the territory of Belarus for sale, and export to countries with which agreements on mutual recognition of identification means have been concluded. The decree also defines the list of jewellery items whose circulation is permitted without marking, and the methods of marking.
Thus, the decree establishes new approaches to regulating the jewellery circulation sphere, controlling the legality of their turnover from manufacture (import) to sale, which contributes to protecting consumers from unscrupulous sellers.
