In Belarus, the average per capita subsistence minimum budget has been set at Br1.64 million for the period from March 1 to April 30 of the current year. This decision is contained in Decree No. 111 of March 25, 2016, "On Taxation and Approval of the Subsistence Minimum Budget". The SMB has been increased by 3.1% since March 1 of this year to provide additional protection for socially vulnerable categories of citizens. As a reminder, the average per capita subsistence minimum budget from February 1 was Br1.591 million 310 per month.
In March, the amounts of all types of child benefits, which are calculated in relation to the SMB, will increase by 3.1% compared to February.
Thus, the one-time benefit for the birth of the first child (10 SMB) in March and April will amount to Br16.4 million, for the birth of the second and subsequent children (14 SMB) - Br22.96 million. The one-time benefit for women who registered with state healthcare organizations before the 12th week of pregnancy (100% SMB) is Br1.64 million.
The monthly benefit for children over 3 years old from certain categories of families, as defined by legislation, for a child with a disability (70% SMB) is Br1.148 million, for other children in the family (50% SMB) - Br820 thousand. The monthly childcare benefit for a child under 18 with a disability (100% SMB) since March is Br1.64 million, the monthly benefit for a child under 18 infected with HIV (70% SMB) is Br1.148 million.
The monthly benefit for families with children aged 3 to 18 during the period of raising a child under 3 years old (50% SMB) now amounts to Br820 thousand.
As previously reported, due to the change in the SMB, minimum labour and social pensions; supplements, increases to pensions and allowances for people aged 75 and over; and other payments calculated based on the SMB will also increase from March.
