Amendments are being introduced to the legislation on telecommunications in Belarus. The corresponding Resolution of the Council of Ministers of December 20, 2019 No. 881 has been published on the National Legal Internet Portal, BELTA reports.
As commented by the Ministry of Communications and Informatization, the adjustments are aimed at simplifying the activities of economic entities. In particular, full-scale measurements are no longer required if only the name and location of the owner (holder) of the connected telecommunication network or data transmission network are changed. A perpetual validity period is established for the permit to connect a telecommunication network and for the operation of a cable television system headend station.
The need to obtain an executive committee permit for the construction and commissioning of subscriber communication lines is eliminated. A cable television system headend station must be operated with a relevant permit.
In addition, the resolution regulates certain issues related to the approval of the design, construction, and commissioning of fiber-optic lines, bringing the legislative framework into line with Decree No. 350 of September 18, 2019 "On the Peculiarities of Using the National Segment of the Internet." -0-
