President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree No. 49 "On the Establishment of the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Research" on February 12. This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the Head of State.

The Belarusian Institute for Strategic Research is being established for the purpose of providing information and analytical support to the activities of state bodies in the strategic areas of foreign and domestic policy.

The focus of this research institution will be on conducting scientific research, studying the development trends of international, socio-political, and socio-economic processes, and researching risks and challenges in the information sphere.

The Belarusian Institute for Strategic Research will be involved in developing recommendations aimed at improving state policy in various areas, and will participate in the coordination of strategic planning documents (doctrines, strategies, concepts) developed by state bodies.

Leading experts in the fields of foreign and domestic policy, information technology, and national security are planned to be involved in conducting analytical research on strategic issues of Belarus's sustainable development. Close cooperation of the Institute for Strategic Research with state bodies, international organizations, and domestic and foreign analytical centers (think tanks) will facilitate a more in-depth study of the issues under consideration.
