May 3, Minsk /BELTA/. A directory of state and public organizations providing assistance to citizens in situations of domestic violence has been created in Belarus. This was reported to BELTA by the public association "Belarusian Association of Young Christian Women".

The directory contains brief information on the problem of domestic violence, statistical data for Belarus, the republican legislative framework regulating domestic violence issues, as well as information about Belarusian public associations and state institutions that provide assistance on this issue.

The data contained in the directory were obtained as a result of information requests to departments, organizations, and institutions working on this issue.

The directory was prepared by the Belarusian Association of Young Christian Women within the framework of the international technical assistance project "Enhancing National Capacity of the State to Counter Domestic Violence in the Republic of Belarus" with the financial and technical support of the UN Population Fund (UNFPA), the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), as well as the financial support of the UN Trust Fund "Ending Violence Against Women".
