On May 20, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Favourable conditions have been created in Belarus for foreign businessmen to operate. This viewpoint was expressed in a conversation with a BELTA correspondent by Olga Kapatsyevich, Director of OW PLUS (Czech Republic), a participant of the "Innovative Business - Investments in the Future" innovation and investment forum, which is being held today in Vitebsk. Belarusian and Czech enterprises and businessmen can cooperate in various fields, but production activities are the most effective, the businesswoman is confident. In her assessment, favourable conditions have been created in Belarus for the development of new production facilities. At the same time, Olga Kapatsyevich noted with regret that Western Europe knows very little about the real situation in Belarus and the measures taken by the state to support private business. Ms. Kapatsyevich is originally from Belarus and is currently the head of a company that manufactures electrical equipment for automotive and tractor technology, including for manufacturers such as Skoda and Volkswagen. At the forum in Vitebsk, OW PLUS signed a protocol of intent to establish a joint venture based on the republican unitary enterprise "Evistor Plant" with a total investment of $5 million. More than 200 representatives of business circles from 12 countries participated in the investment forum, which is being held in Vitebsk on May 20-21. Over 150 new proposals have been presented for consideration by potential investors. Priority areas include innovative technologies in logistics, energy saving, food and woodworking industries, mechanical engineering, pharmaceuticals, and tourism. During the forum, it is planned to hold the "Science. Innovations. Investments" scientific and practical exhibition of innovative and investment projects, a presentation of priority projects, a contact and cooperation exchange, and visits to enterprises and investment sites. Investors will have the opportunity to familiarise themselves with projects already successfully implemented in the region and to communicate with businessmen engaged in investment activities in the region. -0-
