President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree No. 357 "On Renewable Energy Sources," the press service of the Head of State informed BELTA.
The document is aimed at the balanced development of all types of electricity generation, taking into account the commissioning of the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant.
The decree provides for the use of only new equipment when creating, reconstructing, and modernizing installations operating with renewable energy sources, and for the purchase of electricity from these installations at incentive coefficients sufficient for investment payback. If the declared construction deadlines for such installations are exceeded, the electricity purchased from them will be at lower coefficients.
Legal entities and individual entrepreneurs will be given the opportunity to transmit electricity from renewable energy sources through the grids of state energy supply organizations, as well as to create installations operating with renewable energy sources without quotas for the energy supply of their economic activities.-0-
