The event is timed to coincide with the World Architecture Day and will be held in the republic for the third time. Its aim is to increase public interest in the achievements, problems, and origins of modern architecture.
In Vitebsk, an exhibition "Glimpse into the Future" will open today in the building of UP "Institute Vitebskgrazhdanproekt". From October 7 to 9, an exhibition-demonstration of the most interesting projects by Vitebsk architects will take place. On October 10, Open House Days will be held in the design organizations of the region – everyone will be able to see how architectural workshops work.
In Grodno, it is planned to organize an exhibition of leading design organizations and graduating students of the Grodno State Polytechnic College. UP "Institute Grodnograzhdanproekt" will also open its doors to visitors. Events will also be held in Lida, where an exhibition of development projects for the city and district will take place.
The State Historical and Cultural Institution "Gomel Palace and Park Ensemble" has planned excursions and lectures of an architectural focus during these days, during which one can learn about the history of Gomel's iconic buildings.
Educational institutions of the Brest region will take part in the Belarusian Architectural Week: Brest, Berezovsky, and Pinsk construction lyceums, Brest and Kobrin polytechnic colleges. From October 6 to 12, exhibitions of models by students of the construction department "Calling to the Profession" and a photo exhibition "Brest - City of Modern Architecture and Sculpture" will be organized, round tables will be held, and excursions to architectural bureaus and construction sites will take place. In addition, an excursion to the architectural monuments of Pinsk and historical sites of the Brest region will be organized.
The press service of the Ministry of Architecture and Construction reminded that October 10 is the deadline for submitting works to the republican children's creativity contest "ArchNovation-2014". This year, video clips, which are gaining popularity among youth, have been added to the nominations "Painting", "Graphics" and "Artistic Photography". The contest is organized by the Ministry of Architecture and Construction of Belarus in conjunction with the National Center for Artistic Creativity of Children and Youth.-0-
