In Belarus, the sizes of minimum consumer budgets (MCB) for different socio-demographic groups have been established, calculated per capita and per family member of various compositions, on a monthly basis from August 1 to October 31. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection.
Thus, the minimum consumer budget per family member of a four-person family from August 1 to October 31, 2016, calculated per month, amounts to Br285.43.
Currently, the per capita MCB for a four-person family serves as the basis for determining citizens' eligibility for preferential loans and subsidies for the construction (reconstruction) or acquisition of residential premises; for citizens permanently residing and working in settlements with a population of up to 20,000 people, it is for preferential loans for capital repairs and reconstruction of residential premises, construction of utility networks, erection of utility buildings and structures, as well as for determining other social standards.
By the Resolution of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, per capita minimum consumer budgets have also been established for a young three-person family from August 1 to October 31 - Br312.24; for the working-age population - Br366.80; for pensioners - Br288.03; for students - Br271.96; for children under 3 years of age - Br233.11; for children aged 3 to 6 years - Br307.90; for children aged 6 to 18 years - Br311.94.
Minimum consumer budgets are established quarterly by a Resolution of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection at the prices of the last month of the quarter for six socio-demographic groups and two families of different compositions.
