The minimum consumer budgets (MCB) for different socio-demographic groups, per capita and per family member of various compositions, have been established in Belarus at the September prices of the current year. This decision is contained in the Resolution of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection dated October 20, 2016, No. 65, as reported to BELTA correspondent by the relevant department.
The minimum consumer budgets (MCB) for different socio-demographic groups, per capita and per family member of various compositions, have been established in Belarus at the September prices of the current year. This decision is contained in the Resolution of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection dated October 20, 2016, No. 65, as reported to BELTA correspondent by the relevant department.
Thus, the minimum consumer budget per family member of a four-person family, for the period from November 1, 2016, to June 30, 2017, amounts to Br293.32 per month (this standard was set at Br285.43 for the period from August 1 to October 31). Therefore, the MCB has increased by 2.8%.
According to specialists, the share of main consumer expenditure items in the MCB for a four-person family at September prices is as follows: food products - 49.6%, clothing, linen, footwear - 19.8%, housing and communal services - 7.5%, household services, transport, communication - 9%; furniture, cultural and household goods - 8.4%, cultural and educational events and recreation - 1.5%, contributions and payments - 1.8%, medicines, sanitary and hygiene items - 2.5%.
Currently, the per capita minimum consumer budget for a four-person family serves as the basis for determining citizens' eligibility for preferential loans and subsidies for the construction (reconstruction) or purchase of residential premises; for citizens permanently residing and working in settlements with a population of up to 20,000 people, it is the basis for preferential loans for capital repairs and reconstruction of residential premises, construction of utility networks, erection of utility rooms and outbuildings, as well as for determining other social standards.
