31 May, Minsk /BELTA correspondent/. Belarus has approved an additional list of socially significant goods, on which temporary price regulation may be introduced for a period of up to 90 days. This decision was made by Resolution of the Council of Ministers of 28 May 2011 No. 676, the press service of the Belarusian government informed BELTA. The document amends Resolution of the Council of Ministers of 14 April 2011 No. 495, which approved the list of goods (works, services) whose prices (tariffs) are regulated by the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Health, regional executive committees, and the Minsk City Executive Committee. The list of socially significant goods, whose prices are regulated by the Ministry of Economy for a period not exceeding 90 days, includes 13 types of consumer goods. These are basic consumer goods that determine the living standards of the population. They include: live fish, frozen fish (except delicacies), salted herring, hard and soft cow's milk cheeses, pearl barley, barley groats, oat groats, oat flakes without flavourings or other additives, fresh cucumbers, tomatoes, apples, bananas, lemons, oranges, coffee, tea, common salt (except sea salt), beef and pork offal of the first and second categories, chicken and broiler meat offal, boiled sausages, frankfurters, blood sausages, and liver sausages, synthetic detergents. In addition, it has been established that prices for socially significant goods, as defined by Resolution of the Council of Ministers of 14 April 2011 No. 495, cannot be increased before 1 July 2011 and cannot exceed the level approved as of 28 May 2011 by legal entities and individual entrepreneurs producing these goods. Thus, the press service emphasised, the adoption of Resolution of the Council of Ministers No. 676 is aimed at preventing unjustified price increases for consumer goods (services). In development of Resolution of the Council of Ministers of 28 May 2011 No. 676, the Ministry of Economy also adopted Resolution No. 79 on 28 May, "On trade mark-ups for socially significant goods, the prices of which may be regulated by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus for a period not exceeding 90 days".
