In Belarus, the dates for the 2017 higher education admission campaign have been approved

The Ministry of Education of Belarus has approved the dates for the admission campaign for first-degree higher education in 2017. This is stipulated by Ministry Resolution No. 17 of March 9, 2017, as reported by BELTA with reference to the National Centre for Legal Information of Belarus.

The submission of documents to higher education institutions (HEIs) for state-funded and fee-paying education is scheduled from July 12 to July 17. HEIs of agricultural profile will accept documents for part-time studies from November 15 to December 5.

For citizens wishing to enroll in HEIs on a fee-paying basis who will not be taking entrance examinations directly at the HEI, documents will be accepted within the following periods: at the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Mogilev Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the University of Civil Protection of the Ministry for Emergency Situations – from July 12 to July 31; at the Belarusian State Academy of Arts, the Belarusian State Academy of Music, the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts – from July 12 to August 2; at other HEIs – from July 12 to August 4.

Graduates of specialised classes of pedagogical orientation applying for pedagogical specialities can submit their documents from July 12 to July 14.

Entrance examinations conducted directly at educational institutions will commence on July 18. These examinations will be held until July 21 at the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Mogilev Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the University of Civil Protection of the Ministry for Emergency Situations; until July 26 – at the Belarusian State Academy of Arts, the Belarusian State Academy of Music, the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts; until July 24 – at other HEIs. Entrance examinations at HEIs of agricultural profile will take place from July 18 to July 25 (full-time study) and from December 6 to December 15 (part-time study).

The Resolution also defines the deadlines for admitting applicants and for additional recruitment to state higher education institutions for places determined by the admission targets, which remain vacant after the admission of applicants. In addition, the deadlines for the admission campaign for foreign citizens and stateless persons, as well as for citizens of Ukraine and stateless persons who resided (as a rule, for at least one year) in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine and arrived in Belarus to obtain permits for temporary or permanent residence, have been established.

The Resolution shall enter into force after its official publication.
