"In 2016, we registered 116 new domestic medicinal products in the country. For the last seven years, there hasn't been a year when less than 100 new medicinal products entered the market; in 2015, there were even 180," said Tatiana Tumelya.

As of March 1, 2017, 4.5 thousand medicinal products were registered in Belarus, including 1.6 thousand of domestic production.

The volume of the Belarusian pharmaceutical market in 2016 amounted to $636.8 million, which is 4% less compared to 2015. The share of domestic medicinal products in the country's market based on the results of 2016 in value terms was 51.9%. According to the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus (Belstat), the volume of medicinal product production last year amounted to Br891.5 million. About 70% of this volume is provided by state-owned pharmaceutical enterprises, specified Tatiana Tumelya.
