Initially, it was proposed to set the housing construction volumes for 2019 at 4 million square meters. "But I believe that we can take on increased commitments. We have the capabilities, strength, and resources to achieve higher volumes. And in 2020, we can reach the level of 5 million square meters," said Anatoly Kalinin. The main drivers should be the construction of housing for large families, in satellite towns, as well as individual housing construction.
In Belarus, 4 million square meters of housing are planned to be commissioned this year. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that this plan will be fulfilled, and possibly overfulfilled. This includes the planned construction of about 900 thousand square meters of housing with state support. "In 2018, we doubled the volume of housing construction for large families. But the main problem is that large families have been on the waiting list for more than three years. We have committed to resolving this within 2019-2020, so that by 2021, only large families who have been on the waiting list for no more than one year remain. We have tasked the regional executive committees with providing a comprehensive plan to the Ministry of Architecture and Construction by August 1," he noted.
