February 26, Minsk /BELTA correspondent/. In Belarus, the highest average wage in January of the current year was for employees engaged in computer-related activities – Br10 million 990 thousand. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the National Statistical Committee.
A high average wage in January was also recorded for economic activities such as the production of coke, petroleum products and nuclear materials – Br9 million 167 thousand, air transport – Br8 million 848.8 thousand, financial intermediation – Br8 million 804.4 thousand. The lowest indicator in January was in the provision of social services (Br2 million 700.1 thousand), in activities related to cinema and video films (Br3 million 47.7 thousand), in education (Br3 million 76.5 thousand), agriculture, hunting and related services (Br3 million 193.4 thousand).
The maximum growth rate of real wages in January 2013 compared to January 2012 was achieved in the repair of household goods and personal items (164.6%), insurance (154.1%), water transport (151.3%). The minimum indicator was in chemical production (74.7%), computer-related activities (98%), and the provision of social services (98.1%).
Overall in industry, real wages in January 2013 increased by 21.4% compared to January 2012, and for workers and employees – by 22.6%.
As previously reported by BELTA, the nominal average accrued wage of workers in Belarus in January 2013 was Br4 million 368 thousand, a decrease of 7.9%, or Br373.3 thousand, compared to December 2012. Real wages (wages calculated taking into account the growth of consumer prices for goods and services) in January 2013 increased by 22.9% compared to January 2012, and decreased by 10.6% compared to December 2012. -0-
