In Belarusian organisations, working conditions were improved at 8.2 thousand workplaces with harmful or hazardous conditions in January-September of the current year, and over 14.2 thousand workplaces were brought into compliance with hygienic standards overall. State bodies for the examination of working conditions conducted 367 examinations, including 116 examinations of the quality of workplace attestation. The legal rights of 170 employees to receive compensation and guarantees for work in harmful and/or hazardous conditions were restored.
According to specialists, the implementation of state policy in the field of occupational safety and health will be continued. Special attention will be paid to the implementation of measures under the "Occupational Safety and Health" subprogramme of the State Programme for Social Protection and Employment Promotion for 2016-2020.
The ministry emphasised that systematic work is underway to train and upskill employees on occupational safety and health issues, and to promote safe work practices and methods. In educational institutions, 159 specialists with higher education in the specialty "Occupational Safety and Health" completed retraining over 9 months, with 368 people continuing their studies.
