The Republican Wood Carving Masters Competition and Open-Air Festival "Wood Metamorphosis" will be held for the first time from June 22 to 29 at the premises of OJSC "FanDOK" in Bobruisk. This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the "Bellesbumprom" concern.
The Republican Wood Carving Masters Competition and Open-Air Festival "Wood Metamorphosis" will be held for the first time from June 22 to 29 at the premises of OJSC "FanDOK" in Bobruisk. This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the "Bellesbumprom" concern.
"The competition is held with the aim of developing traditions, enhancing the importance and prestige of the wood carving profession, supporting creative activity, attracting attention to the industry, identifying and supporting talented masters, and developing ecological tourism and an active lifestyle. The competition organisers expect to identify outstanding, original wood carving masters to support and assist them in their development," the press service noted.
Permanent employees of organisations within the "Bellesbumprom" concern and the forestry sector, as well as students of creative specialities, are invited to participate in the competition. Wood carving masters working independently or in organisations of other sectors may also be admitted. Applications for participation are accepted until June 6.
The competition categories are defined as: "Garden and Park Sculpture and (or) Bench", "Speed Chainsaw Sculpture (and (or) Bench)", and "Master of 'Golden Hands'". Works will be evaluated based on several criteria: complexity and completeness of the work, originality of the idea, and artistic level of the piece.
The organisers of the competition are the Belarusian Trade Union of Forestry and Nature Management Workers, the "Bellesbumprom" concern, and OJSC "FanDOK".
