23 October, Minsk /BELTA correspondent/. Belarusian agricultural producers are completing potato harvesting, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food told BELTA.
In agricultural organisations, the harvest of the "second bread" has been gathered from 51.9 thousand hectares, which accounts for 97.5% of the areas to be harvested. Vitebsk and Mogilev regions have already completed their targets. According to data as of 23 October, over 1,231 thousand tonnes of potatoes have been dug up in agricultural organisations, with an average yield of 237.3 centners per hectare. The highest yield is recorded in Grodno region, where over 285 centners are harvested per hectare, and the lowest is in Gomel region (205.9 centners per hectare).
In farming enterprises, potatoes have been harvested from 6.1 thousand hectares. More than 159 thousand tonnes of potatoes have been dug up. The average yield is 262.6 centners per hectare.
227 thousand tonnes of potatoes have been stored for seeds (78% of the target).-0-
