May 5, Minsk /BELTA correspondent/. Belarusian pharmacies have a sufficient supply of imported medicines to meet the population's needs. This was stated to a BELTA correspondent by Igor Kovalchuk, General Director of RUE "Belpharmatsiya". "Due to problems in the currency market, the situation in state-owned pharmacies has not worsened; there are no medicines that pharmacies cannot satisfy the demand for. Both in pharmacies and warehouse facilities, and in healthcare organizations, there are sufficient quantities of medicines of both domestic and imported production," said Igor Kovalchuk. According to him, in January-April of the current year, the range of medicines in the pharmacy network has not narrowed; for imports, enterprises are working according to the established foreign trade balance indicators, and the volume of imported purchases has remained at the same level. At the same time, year after year, an increase in the sales of domestic drugs is noted. The "Belpharmatsiya" pharmacy network includes more than 1.6 thousand facilities. More than 400 pharmacies operate in rural areas.-0-
