In the Vitebsk region, social facilities will start receiving heat from October 3, as reported to a BELTA correspondent by the Housing and Communal Services Department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.

"By decision of the operational group, healthcare facilities, social security institutions, schools, preschools, as well as museums, state archives, and libraries will be the first to receive heat. Taking into account the weather forecast for the coming days, the phased commissioning of heating in the region's housing stock may begin towards the end of the current week," the specialists noted.

Should the average daily temperature rise, the heating system will be switched to a low-heat mode.

During the current inter-seasonal period, 510 boiler houses will be operational in the Vitebsk region. All heat sources, as well as housing facilities, have already received their readiness certificates. As part of the winter preparations, dispatch services and emergency crews have been equipped with the necessary machinery and personnel. Annual targets for the repair and replacement of heating networks, with a focus on using pre-insulated pipes, and the accumulation of local fuel types (this work is ongoing) have also been met.
