During rain – increased attention on the road!

  Short-term rains are forecast for most of the country today, with thunderstorms in some areas. Fog is possible in the morning hours in places.

  In adverse weather conditions, it is necessary to choose a speed that is safe for the specific road situation and to avoid rash manoeuvres. If visibility deteriorates, switch on your low beam headlights, maintain a safe distance and lateral clearance, and avoid sudden braking and steering movements.

  During rain, the coefficient of friction between the wheels and the road is significantly reduced, which can lead to an increase in braking distance and loss of control. To avoid aquaplaning, drive through puddles at the minimum possible constant speed, keeping the steering wheel straight.

  If it is impossible to continue driving due to the intensity of precipitation, stop off the roadway with hazard lights and external lights switched on, and wait out the downpour. Do not park under trees, near structures with high windage, or insecurely fastened structures.

  Drivers and passengers must wear seat belts, and children under 12 years of age must be transported in special restraint systems.

  Pedestrians should only start crossing the road after ensuring that drivers have noticed and are yielding to them. Make yourself visible with high-visibility clothing, and in the dark, when walking along the roadway, use retroreflective elements. In bad weather, refrain from using personal mobility devices and bicycles.
