This year, the Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve celebrates its 100th anniversary.

In its anniversary year, the reserve is preparing large-scale events, as reported at a press conference in Minsk on February 7 by the head of the institution, Andrey Prokoshin.

Traditionally, the "Shlyakh Tsmoka" festival is held at the reserve. This year, the festival may change its format and location: "We are changing the location, partly because we expect more guests." Other traditional event activities will also be held: "Enchanted Hearts," "Nightingale Nights," "Kupala Night." And the autumn "Veles Night."

The Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve also plans to open new routes. "For the 80th anniversary of Victory, we have an idea to open a new cycling route related to the partisan movement. We are significantly updating our infrastructure. For example, the ecological education centre will be renovated. We are creating a more interesting location near our forest zoo and expanding the area there. We are creating a small amusement park focused on family recreation. We hope to complete everything by the active tourist season," the director added.

He also noted that guests from America and Australia visit the reserve. According to Andrey Prokoshin, the number of tourists visiting the reserve is growing. In 2011, just over 30,000 people visited, and in 2024, more than 100,000.
