This year has seen a surge in accidents involving personal mobility device users. There is a growing public demand for amendments to the traffic regulations.

  - Since the beginning of the year, the number of incidents involving road users moving on mobile transport has increased by 70%, — noted the Deputy Head of the Main Department of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Alexander Zamonev. — A total of 74 people were injured in these incidents. And this is only considering cases where users collided with mechanical vehicles.

  The Ministry of Internal Affairs is developing measures that will influence the situation. At the same time, the law enforcement officers' goal is to consider the interests of all road users.

  Alexander Zamonev recommended that owners of personal mobility devices (PMDs) strictly adhere to the traffic rules established for them, as well as use special protective equipment.

  Pedestrians should also behave more cautiously. Some of them suddenly enter cycle paths. It is especially important to be attentive for those walking with young children: parents should stop their child in time if they decide to run along a section of the pavement designated for mobile transport.
