This project is a creative realization by a gymnasium graduate, the talented artist Alexey Leshchev.

The unveiling of the mural is a direct manifestation of respect and remembrance for the feat of our people during the Great Patriotic War. As a reminder, the educational institution bears the name of this Hero.

Honoured guests also attended the mural unveiling ceremony: Veronika Khombak, Deputy Chairperson of the District Executive Committee; Svetlana Sheveleva, Head of the Department of Ideological Work and Youth Affairs of the District Executive Committee; Vitaly Zhigimont, Prosecutor of Lepel District; and Alexey Berilo, Deputy Commander of the 407th Artillery Group for Ideological Work.

A guest from Minsk, the well-known public figure Alexey Talai, also witnessed this important and long-awaited event for the residents of Lepel.

The gymnasium students and teachers conveyed all the pain, horror, and fear that people experienced during the war years. In their musical performances and productions, the locals endeavoured to show the real picture of events.

It must be said that it was impossible to watch without tears...

May our memory be a bridge between the past and the future. To remember is to honour those who put an end to the atrocities. And just as then, in 1945, we say: "Victory is one for all!"
