The second day of the sports and cultural festival "Vytoki. Krok da Alimpu" in Hlybokaye began with a visit to the district's sports facilities. The leadership of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus, the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, and the Vitebsk region visited the boxing hall, the district's youth sports school, and the physical culture and recreation center.
The guests also visited the square of famous natives of Hlybokaye and the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
At the "Belarusian Brands" exhibition and sale, Belarusian enterprises presented their products. The Olympic run, in which children under 9 years of age participate, has begun.
Subbotin: Children in the regions can engage in various sports and achieve results
Conditions are being created in the regions of the Vitebsk region for children to engage in various sports and achieve results. This was stated by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Aleksandr Subbotin, to journalists during his visit to the cultural and sports festival "Vytoki" in Hlybokaye.
"New facilities are being built in the region, sports halls and sections are opening in schools, and equipment is being purchased. Conditions are being created for children – and they are our future – to engage in various sports and begin to achieve results," said Aleksandr Subbotin.
He added that significant funds are allocated for these purposes. Attention is paid not only to large cities but also to district centers, which are also breeding grounds for future champions.
The cultural and sports festival "Vytoki. Krok da Alimpu" unites people of different interests and ages. The celebration features sports, cultural-historical, and art venues, food court and family recreation zones, and a craft fair. Numerous master classes and seminars are held. Guests get acquainted with the historical heritage, achievements, and brands of the region, as well as paintings by famous Belarusian artists. One can try various sports in the "Olympic Quest" during the day, and in the evening, relax at a concert with famous artists and at a disco with music by top DJs.
"Vytoki" is hosted by six cities in Belarus in 2023.
