On February 1, a disabled person of Group II due to a general illness, born in 1970, inflicted fatal stab wounds to the neck and head on his cohabiting 71-year-old father. The man reported the crime to the police himself. It was established that he was sober at the time of the crime. However, the motive for the murder remains unknown, as the detainee is not giving testimony. A criminal case has been initiated against the man under Part 2 of Article 139 of the Criminal Code of Belarus ("Murder"), the punishment for which provides for up to 25 years of imprisonment, life imprisonment, or the death penalty.
