On May 11, Minsk /Lyudmila Sats - BELTA/. A station running on local types of fuel (LTF) will be built in each region of Belarus within 3-4 years. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Belarus, Sergei Sidorsky, today at the opening of the Belarusian Industrial Forum, according to a BELTA correspondent. Sergei Sidorsky recalled that by 2010, Belarus should reach a share of local types of fuel in its energy balance of 25%. Currently, this figure stands at 21%. It is planned that in two years, the share of LTF will increase to 30%, and in the future, Belarus intends to replace a significant portion of imported traditional energy sources with its own. According to the Prime Minister, about a dozen mini-CHP plants running on local types of fuel have already been built in Belarus (Vileyka, Bobruisk, Osipovichi, and others). The most effective project for Belarus was implemented at the Pruzhany mini-CHP plant, which was commissioned in 2009. "In the future, such stations will be in every region of the country. We have set ourselves an ambitious goal - to proceed with the construction of such stations on local sources in medium-sized and small cities of the country. We will solve this task within the next three to four years," emphasized the head of government, adding that this will enhance the country's energy security and the efficiency of energy resource utilization. These issues will be the focus of the "BelPromEnergo" exhibition, which is taking place as part of the forum. Over 200 companies from Belarus, Austria, Germany, Latvia, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Finland, and the Czech Republic are presenting their products there. "During the forum, a series of events will take place, the main one being an exhibition of new achievements and advanced technologies that will prevail in the 21st century. It is important that equipment needed by our economy today, and by the economies of states that are leaders in certain segments, is presented here," said Sergei Sidorsky. -0-
