The third Friday of the month is traditionally the date for meetings of the Lepel District Executive Committee.

Today's agenda includes 2 main issues: "On the implementation of the State Program 'Perpetuation of the Memory of those who died in the Defence of the Fatherland' for 2021-2025 in the Lepel District", and "On work to prevent suicidal behaviour and identify individuals prone to suicidal behaviour in the Lepel District".

Alongside local leaders, participation in the discussion of these issues was taken by Viktor Azaryonok, Deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Vladimir GUK, Deputy Prosecutor of the Vitebsk Region, Senior Justice Counsellor, and Igor Metelitsa, Deputy Head of the Department of the Vitebsk Region Prosecutor's Office for Supervision of Legislation Enforcement in the Armed Forces, Senior Justice Counsellor.

— While our neighbours, in their pursuit of integration with "progressive" Western countries, are waging a fierce war against monuments to fallen heroes who liberated their lands, Belarus sacredly honours the names of true heroes.

- In the Lepel District, as throughout the country, work on the implementation of the State Program "Perpetuation of the Memory of those who died in the Defence of the Fatherland" for 2021-2025 is actively continuing, within the framework of which military burial sites and memorials to soldiers who fell in the struggle for the freedom of our country are being brought into proper condition," reported Svetlana Shevelyova, Head of the Ideological Work and Youth Affairs Department of the District Executive Committee.

Much has been done in terms of suicide prevention, but the problem continues to remain relevant.

Active work is being carried out in the district to identify citizens who have attempted suicide and to provide them with the necessary psychotherapeutic and psychological assistance, involving psychologists, public and state organizations, social services, and mass media.

— Each case of a confirmed suicide is considered individually," noted the rapporteur Veronika Khombak, Deputy Chairperson of the District Executive Committee.
