The first block of the seminar included an introduction to the Lepel Center, as well as materials from an exhibition of methodological literature and achievements of pedagogical workers and students of the region.
Then, an information and educational route "Educational environment of the institution of additional education for children and youth - a platform for fostering citizenship and patriotism in students" awaited everyone: an interactive platform "Pioneer nas100yashchy. Traditions and innovations", from the experience of the Lepel regional council of the "BRPO" public association; open presentation platforms of interest clubs: "Intellectual Games Club 'RA'", "Karting", "Learning through Play".
Educators from other districts listened with great attention to presentations about interest clubs, took notes on interesting developments from Lepel residents, and asked many questions to adopt their experience.
When sharing impressions, almost everyone was delighted with our teachers – active and interested in the results. They stated that they know how to find an approach to each student, involve them in the creative process, and help them realize their potential. Among the advantages, it was also noted that children master the basics of traditional art in their classes and are introduced to history. And the demonstration races of the kart racers under the guidance of teacher Igor were especially impressive to everyone.Klunduka.
After familiarizing themselves with the associations, the seminar participants gathered in the assembly hall. The Deputy Chairman of the District Executive Committee, Viktor Azarenok, addressed the experienced educators with a welcoming speech, and also spoke about the historical and cultural heritage and socio-economic development of the Lepel district. The Director of the National Center for Arts and Crafts, Natalia Vasilchenko, and the Director of the Vitebsk Regional Palace of Children and Youth, Dmitry Andreev, addressed the attendees, highly appreciating the work of the management and educators of our center.
The Head of the Education Department of the District Executive Committee, Anatoly Karpitsky, spoke on the topic "Regional Education System: Experience, Traditions, Innovations".
The Director of the center, Alla Churo, shared pedagogical ideas and creative initiatives, and also noted that supplementary education for childrenis considered an important component of education, organically combining upbringing, learning, and the comprehensive development of a child. It provides students with broad opportunities to become self-sufficient individuals, developed in various spheres, in the modern world.
The center's structure comprises 4 departments: Aesthetic Education, Leisure, Sports and Technical Creativity, Tourism and Local Lore. It is a multidisciplinary institution where 49 additional education programs for children and youth (100 interest clubs) are implemented across various profiles. The center has 1051 students.
Interest clubs operate not only in the town but also in four rural settlements: the villages of Zaslonovo, Borovka, Domzheritsy, and Stary Lepel.
On the first day, Deputy Directors Inga Dushenina and Denis Demko shared their experience with the participants, and educator Viktor Radko spoke about the formation of social competencies and an active civic stance of students through the intellectual games club.
Blitz master classes "Connecting Generations: Traditional Culture and Modernity" were also held at the center.
In the second block of the first day, the center directors went to Zaslonovo for the presentation platform "Additional Education Institution for Children and Youth – to a Rural School," after which they visited sites of historical and cultural heritage.
