As part of the Year of Quality, the republican campaign "My Family – My Country" is being held in our country. Its aim is to unite the efforts of state bodies and public organisations to enhance the significance of the family as a social institution, the foundation of the state, preserve family values, and popularise the image of a strong and prosperous family.
Within the framework of the campaign, a number of significant events are being held aimed at strengthening the institution of the family. For instance, in Lepel, on Family Day, family trees were planted. Young plants are gaining strength in a sacred place – on the territory of the Church of St. Paraskeva Pyatnitsa. The initiators of this kind initiative were the Lepel District Trade Union Association and the clergy.
The essence of the campaign, according to the organisers, is to show one's heartfelt attitude towards family values, as the planted saplings will grow, and with them, our families will strengthen.
Viktor Lugovtsov, Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Trade Union Association, and Archpriest Sergiy Leshkevich, Dean of the Lepel District, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech.
They noted that family, care, mutual respect, harmony, and the love of loved ones are a person's main support and strength. A prosperous family is the foundation of a strong and powerful state. The values of caring for children, respecting elders, and the continuity of generations, instilled in the family, become traditions upon which a stable society, a strong and thriving country are built.
Fifteen families took part in planting the trees. The young saplings were planted diligently, with children helping their parents and being very concerned that the plants would take root. The event turned out to be bright and memorable, as a tree is a symbol of life, family, and strength.
It is gratifying that the campaign brought together residents of our town of all ages, from young children to people of venerable age.
For example, the Pshonko family decided to participate in such a beneficial undertaking. Despite having many responsibilities, the couple could not stand aside.
-- Such a pastime is not only a useful activity but also instils certain family values. We have been participating in such events for several years now.and we always get only positive emotions from them, -- says Victoria Viktorovna.
— May our beloved city become even greener and more beautiful every year. And
especially such memorable and sacred places. And may the planted family tree park
grow and delight the eyes of our townspeople. And we will take care of our trees
as much as possible, protect and water them in dry weather, -- added her husband
Sergey Vasilievich.
An participant of the event is Gleb Romanenko, who, together with his parents
Sergey and Elena, as well as his brother Ivan, joined the good cause. The boy
said that he is planting a family tree for the first time.
-- I have never planted a tree before, but today I will. It's very interesting
here, -- Gleb shared his thoughts. -- He admitted that he loves his parents very
much and is happy to spend time with them, especially in this way.
— We are overflowing with emotions of joy and happiness for our family. We are
proud that we were entrusted with participating in such an important event. And
happy children grow up in strong families, the foundation of our future is
formed, -- noted the Poltorak family – Alexey, Olga, and their children. Both
spouses work at the Lepel forestry, so a careful attitude to the forest and
nature is instilled in the family from childhood.
— For us, this is not just planting a tree, but an important event in the
history of our family! Our son really enjoyed the event, new acquaintances, the
friendly atmosphere, -- says the Prusskikh family – Victoria and Timofey.
-- Such events unite us, rally the Belarusian people, the older and younger
generations. That is why young families are taking part in the event. It is
important that we plant trees together and thus give a piece of our heart to
our beloved city. The planted trees will become symbols of love and family
happiness, and the plants will delight the visitors of the temple, the residents
and guests of the city, -- emphasized the first secretary of the RPK of the
BRSM Public Association Daria Mazgo.
After planting, Father Sergiy presented all families with the Holy Gospel and
conducted a tour of the temple.
