A presentation of the book "Genocide of the Belarusian People" was held in Lepel.

Today, June 28, on the day of the liberation of Lepel from the Nazi invaders, a book presentation – "Genocide of the Belarusian People" – was held at the central district library of Lepel. The book was published under the editorship of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Belarus, Andrei Ivanovich Shved.

It includes reference-analytical and documentary materials on the genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War. This book tells how, over three years, fascist punitive detachments burned and destroyed Belarusian cities and villages.
So that the whole world knows and remembers that terrible war – the book is published in two languages – Russian and English.

The presentation was attended by Victoria Vladimirovna Dragel, Senior Prosecutor of the Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, who provided more detailed information about the book's materials.

Also invited to the event were students of the Lepel Agrarian-Technical College, employees of the Department of Emergency Situations, employees of the prosecutor's office, employees of rural libraries, representatives of local media, as well as residents of Lepel.

During the event, participants were shown a slide presentation – "Memory of the Vanished Villages," which tells about the burned villages of the Lepel district.

It is the duty of each of us – for the sake of future generations – to preserve the memory of the past war, the irreparable losses, and the terrible suffering. We have no right to forget the courage and resilience, bravery and patriotism of our countrymen, our heroes. We were proud, and we will be proud of them.
