On October 31, "newly-minted" employees from various sectors visited Verkhnedvinsk. On November 2, they were welcomed by hospitable Lepel, and the third stage of the event will take place in Orsha.
Each of them comprises about 150 people. The youth get acquainted with enterprises, production specifics, as well as local attractions, and join commemorative campaigns and dialogue platforms.
Memory… Monument… Remember!..
The first location in the Lepel district was the district House of Culture, where yesterday's students, and today's young specialists, were met by representatives of the district's enterprises and institutions with their attractive presentation stands – there were about 15 of them.
The next stop was the square on Freedom Square. Near the graves of Soviet Army soldiers and partisans of 1944, a requiem rally "Memory… Monument… Remember!..” was held, after which each of those present laid flowers at the graves of the heroes, thereby paying tribute to the people who fought for a peaceful sky overhead.
At the rally, the Chairman of the District Council of Deputies, Igor Urban, addressed the youth:
— …Our common task is to preserve the historical truth about the events of the Great Patriotic War. You must not forget that you are the heirs of great victors who won the war at the cost of the lives of millions of heroes.
Iryna Busova and Aleksandr Mikhno also touched everyone present with their performance of patriotic songs.
Getting to know the Lepel District
Then the guests divided into three groups and went to explore the Lepel district.
The 231st Artillery Brigade, the 191st Artillery Group of the 19th Separate Guards Mechanized Brigade, and the 52nd Separate Specialized Search Battalion are stationed in the village of Borovka in our district – one of the groups of young specialists learned about this.
Representatives of the military units spoke about the history of their formation, tasks, and numerous achievements.
For instance, everyone was surprised to learn that the 52nd Separate Specialized Search Battalion is the only unit in the republic that is engaged in the search and identification of the remains of military personnel who died during the Great Patriotic War and other wars that took place on the territory of Belarus.
Continuing the traditions of the older generations, the servicemen of these units with honorfulfilling their military duty, demonstrating diligence in mastering combat skills, showing high cohesion and training.
For the youth, an excursion, a film screening, an introduction to the accommodation of military personnel, a visit to the museum, and an interactive program "A Day in the Life of a Serviceman" were also prepared. Samples of military equipment, weapons, gear, and much more were presented to their attention.
For young specialists who visited the DRC "Zhemchuzhina", Director Vera Zakrevskaya conducted a guided tour, and experienced employees conducted a training session on developing communication skills.
The third group visited the district local history museum on this day, where they visited the exhibition "History of the Berezina Water System", "Tragedy and Pain of Lepel Region during the Great Patriotic War", and also participated in the museum quest "Turning the Pages of History…".
After getting acquainted with the unique traditions of the Lepel region and its historical and cultural heritage, the children went to the "Lepel MKK" branch of JSC "Vitebsky Meat Processing Plant", where they tasted the products manufactured by the enterprise, became participants in an excursion, and learned about the experience of adapting young specialists in their first workplace.
Successful Practices in Working with Youth
The large-scale forum concluded with a dialogue platform "Successful Practices in Working with Youth". Speakers at the platform included Vyacheslav Durnov, Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Mikhail Kiselevich, Chairman of the Lepel District Executive Committee, and Vyacheslav Krol, Deputy Head of the Main Department of Ideological Work and Youth Affairs – Head of the Department of Ideological Work, Youth Affairs, Religions and Nationalities of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.
"Young specialists are coming to their first workplaces, so it is very important to support them at the very beginning of their career path, to give them confidence in the future, to show prospects for the future," noted Vyacheslav Durnov.
"The staffing issue is relevant for the district. The healthcare, education, and agricultural sectors need replenishment. Mentors are assigned to young specialists, and various preferences and material support are provided for them," said Mikhail Kiselevich.
During the discussion, experienced speakers shared how an initiative-driven person can become a successful leader. They spoke about the assistance provided to specialists by the Council of Working Youth and familiarized them with the Decree of the Head of Statestate on grants and youth initiatives and answered numerous questions.
Yesterday's students were interested in social guarantees and payments provided for by the legislation of our country, prospects for construction and housing acquisition, the system of state financial support for youth, preferential lending, service, and other issues. All were given exhaustive answers.
As the participants noted, such events are an excellent opportunity to get acquainted with the district, see something new for themselves, and also communicate with young specialists from other districts, make interesting acquaintances, and share impressions.
What should a person be like in their first job? According to many young specialists, the most important thing is to be confident, strive for set goals, be proactive, communicative, able to work in a team, and, of course, lead a healthy lifestyle.
Vyacheslav Durnov also reminded that on February 25, 2024, Belarus will hold its first Unified Voting Day.
— Participating in the vote is the duty of each of us. Our choice largely determines the laws by which we will live and how our country will move forward.
At the end of the event, representatives of the regional and our district authorities wished all young specialists perseverance, patience, and inexhaustible energy, as well as to find themselves in their chosen profession.
